Forensic Psychologist – Contract Opportunity

Location: New jersey, NJ
Start Date: ASAP
Contract Length: 26 weeks
Schedule: Monday–Friday | 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM

We are seeking experienced Forensic Psychologists for a contract opportunity at a state psychiatric hospital in Trenton, NJ. This role works with a high-acuity adult forensic population and requires strong assessment, crisis intervention, and violence risk evaluation experience.

Compensation

• $85/hr + $1,000/week stipend for travelers
  OR
• $100/hr all-inclusive local rate

Position Overview

• Average caseload of approximately 6 patients per day
• 1–2 assessment groups daily
• Adult forensic psychiatric population only
• No pediatric patients
• Patient population includes individuals with violent criminal backgrounds and severe psychiatric diagnoses

Required Experience

• Forensic psychology background
• Psychological assessment experience
• Crisis intervention experience
• State psychiatric hospital experience strongly preferred
• Prior forensic patient population experience required
• APA accredited background required

Highly Preferred Experience

• CBT and DBT therapy experience
• Psychosis treatment experience
• Violence risk assessments including:
  • HCR-20
  • SAPROF
  • SVR-20
  • Static-99
  • MMPI
  • Malingering evaluations
• Risk mitigation and diagnostic evaluations

Licensing Requirements

• Active New Jersey Psychologist license required
• Candidates with permits may be considered; however, full NJ licensure is needed to supervise doctoral interns
