Respiratory Therapist – NICU/PICU

Shift: 12 Hour Rotating Shifts

• 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM
• 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
  (Can rotate between day/night shifts within the same week if needed)

Schedule Requirements: Rotating weekends and holidays required

Job Details:

Seeking an experienced Respiratory Therapist with NICU/PICU experience for a smaller, slower-paced facility. While the day-to-day environment is generally not high volume, candidates must be able to respond quickly and efficiently during emergency triage situations and patient transfers to the main hospital in Boston.

Responsibilities:

• Perform respiratory assessments, diagnostic testing, and prescribed respiratory treatments
• Provide respiratory care to NICU/PICU patients
• Monitor and evaluate effectiveness of treatments
• Maintain accurate department documentation and records
• Assist during emergency triage and stabilization prior to transfer when needed
• Draw arterial blood gases (ABGs)

Required Qualifications:

• Active Massachusetts Respiratory Therapist License
• RRT (Registered Respiratory Therapist)
• Active AHA BLS Certification
• NRP Certification required
• NICU/PICU experience required
• Must be proficient in drawing arterial blood gases (ABGs)

Preferred:

• AHA ACLS Certification

Ideal candidate should be comfortable in both low-volume routine care and urgent high-acuity triage situations when they arise.
