Infusion RN – Hematology/Oncology

Shift: 10 Hour Day Shifts – 4 Days/Week
Schedule Requirement: Every 3rd Saturday required

Unit Details:

• 25-chair ambulatory infusion center located within Lahey Hospital & Medical Center, Burlington, MA
• Adult outpatient infusion center serving hematology, oncology, and medical patients
• Sees approximately 60–110 patients per day
• Nurses are typically assigned 2–3 infusion chairs per shift
• Infusion room attached to Hem/Onc clinic with APP coverage provided

Patient Population:

Adult patients requiring outpatient infusion services for:

• Hematologic conditions
• Oncologic conditions
• Medical diagnoses requiring infusion therapy

Required Experience:

• Minimum 2 years of chemotherapy administration experience
• Prior travel experience preferred
• Experience with:
  • Chemotherapy administration
  • Medical infusion administration
  • Blood transfusions
  • PICC lines
  • Accessing/deaccessing IVADs
  • Starting peripheral IVs
  • Phlebotomy
  • Alaris infusion pumps
  • CADD pumps for home infusion therapy
• Epic EMR experience required

Certifications Required:

• ONS Chemo Provider Card
• AHA BLS Certification

Additional Information:

• Orientation: 1 week
• Candidate may float to Peabody based on staffing needs (rare occurrence)
• Floating determined by date of last float
• LHMC required forms, competencies, and learning modules must be completed prior to arrival

  • Thanksgiving
  • Christmas
  • New Year’s Day

Ideal candidate should be comfortable in a high-volume ambulatory infusion environment with strong oncology and infusion therapy experience.
