Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) – OB/Labor & Delivery

Location – Manhattan, New York, NY
Start Date: 06/08/2026
Schedule: 5 Days/Week | 37.5 Hours
Shift: Days | 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM
Department: IP Obstetrics – Labor & Delivery

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) with Labor & delivery and OB surgical experience. The ideal candidate will have strong scrub experience in major OR procedures and the ability to support obstetrical surgical cases in a fast-paced hospital environment.

Key Responsibilities

Scrub and assist during Labor & Delivery and obstetrical surgical procedures
Prepare and maintain sterile fields, surgical instruments, and supplies during procedures
Anticipate surgeon and procedural team needs during operative cases
Ensure adherence to infection prevention and sterile technique protocols
Assist with instrument counts, specimen handling, and room turnover
Support patient safety and efficient workflow in the operating room
Collaborate with surgeons, nurses, anesthesia providers, and interdisciplinary teams

Required Skills & Experience

Minimum two (2) years of scrub experience in major OR procedures
Labor & Delivery and OB surgical experience required
Strong sterile technique and surgical instrumentation knowledge
Experience assisting during C-sections and obstetrical procedures preferred
Ability to work efficiently in fast-paced surgical environments
Strong communication and teamwork skills

Education Requirements

Completion of an accredited Surgical Technologist training program or Military Surgical Technologist training required

Required Certifications & Licensure

NBSTSA CST Certification required
(No other CST certifications accepted)
AHA BLS Certification required
