Required Certs: BLS, ACLS-AHA, PALS-AHA only Orientation: Usually two shifts preceptor on unit Weekend: Requirements: Every Other Weekend Ratios: 1:5, rarely-1:6. 3 nurses scheduled Number of beds: 21 average census 8-10 2yrs experience in specialty required-Must be able to set up and use Bi-Pap Common titratable and/or set rate drips: Cardizem, insulin, heparin Self Scheduling, Will do block schedules if unit allows at time, Schedules are made about 2wks in advance, 6wks at a time. Common DX: Respiratory issues, pneumonia, wound care, post-op ortho, hip, knee, occasional Gun or urology, FSV, Bronchiolitis, Pediatrics-1-2x/week (experience in peds not required) Charting System:Cerner Required Certifications:ACLS (AHA), BLS (AHA), PALS (AHA)
