🏥 Registered Nurse (RN) – Dialysis | Travel/Contract

📍 Rochester, NY 

Join a high-performing dialysis team in Rochester, NY! This role is perfect for experienced Dialysis RNs ready to step into a Charge/Team Lead position while working in both acute and outpatient settings.

✨ Job Highlights

• Duration: 13-week contract
• Shift: Day Shift (5x8s)
• Hours: Between 5:30 AM – 10:30 PM (8s, 10s, or 12s based on need)
• Guaranteed Hours: 40/week 

🩺 Role Overview

In this role, you will function as a Charge Nurse / Team Lead, managing dialysis operations and patient care:

• Run a 4-patient pod independently
• Oversee dialysis treatments in a 24-chair unit
• Set up and manage Fresenius dialysis machines
• Provide care in both acute and chronic outpatient dialysis settings
• Administer blood and blood products
• Monitor and respond to dialysis-related complications
• Ensure safe, efficient patient flow and staff coordination 

🔧 Required Skills & Experience

• Minimum 1 year RN experience
• Charge Nurse or Team Lead experience REQUIRED
• Strong experience in:
  • Chronic outpatient dialysis
  • Acute dialysis
  • Cannulation (AV fistula & graft)
  • Dialysis machine setup (Fresenius 20008T)
• Experience with:
  • Dialysate conductivity testing
  • Catheters (tunneled & non-tunneled)
  • Machine alarms & troubleshooting 

🧠 Clinical Competencies

• Blood glucose monitoring
• Infection control
• Dysrhythmia interpretation
• Managing complications such as:
  • Hypotension / Hyperkalemia
  • Air embolism / Hemolysis
  • Cardiac arrest / seizures
  • Fluid overload / chest pain 

📜 Certifications

• BLS (AHA) – Required 

🖥️ Charting

• Epic experience REQUIRED 

🔄 Floating & Scheduling

• Floating required to all dialysis locations
• Weekend rotation required (EOW)
• Occasional Sunday shifts (based on holidays) 

🚫 Important Candidate Requirements

• Candidates within 75 miles are NOT accepted
• First-time travelers accepted ✔️
• Must be comfortable floating and working flexible shifts
