Travel RN – Labor & Delivery (L&D) Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) – Labor & Delivery for a travel assignment. The RN will provide specialized care to mothers during labor, delivery, recovery, and postpartum while ensuring the safety and well-being of both mother and newborn. The ideal candidate will have strong clinical skills, the ability to respond quickly in critical situations, and experience in a fast-paced hospital environment.
Responsibilities
- Monitor and assess patients during labor, delivery, and postpartum recovery
- Administer medications, IV therapy, and treatments as ordered
- Assist physicians and providers during deliveries and emergency procedures
- Monitor fetal heart tones and contractions using electronic fetal monitoring equipment
- Educate patients and families on labor, delivery, newborn care, and postpartum recovery
- Maintain accurate patient documentation in the EMR system
- Collaborate with OB physicians, neonatal teams, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare staff
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies, patient safety standards, and infection control procedures
