ANY LICENSE HITS MUST BE DISCLOSED AT TIME OF SUBMISSION Unit - Stepdown - Notes collected 9/22/2025 MS # Beds: - 32 beds total. 22 stepdown beds and 10 floor beds. Nurse:Patient Ratios - Stepdown 1:3 & Floor 1:5 or 6 Required Certifications (i.e., BLS, ACLS?) - BLS, ACLS, NIH Common diagnoses/Types of patients - Cardiology, heart failure, cardiac surgery, medicine and hospitalist (med-surg) Experience or 'Must have' skills - Cardiac experience would be preferred Are RNs required to titrate drips? - Yes Common titratable &/or set rate drips - Heparin, insulin, nitro, Cardizem, nicardipine, Lasix, amio, dobutamine Charge Nurse/House Supervisor? Does the charge nurse take an assignment? - Dedicated charge nurse for the unit on the shift. 3 House supervisors in the building at all times. Goal is for a free charge nurse but depending on staffing numbers they could be in with 1-3 patients. Are there nurse aids on this unit/Ratios - Clinical associates. Typically, overnight they run with 2 (so 1:16) due to staffing but we are budgeted for 4 (so when that happens 1:8). RT Equipment (vents, Cpap, BiPap, etc) - NC, CPAP, BiPAP, HFNC, trach to vent (dedicated RT for the 9th floor) Are there Tele/Monitor Techs on this unit? Are RNs required to read their own strips? What brand are the tele monitors? - Tele techs sit in the tele rooms on 8SE and 10SE and monitor and record tele strips. Phillips monitoring. Shifts & Scheduling (Do you allow self-scheduling? Block scheduling?) - Yes, we self-schedule in kronos and are generally flexible and allow block scheduling. Weekend Requirements - 3 - 4 S days (Sat and Sun), 2 Fridays, and 2 Mondays in a 4-week schedule period for the nightshift position. For the weekend nightshift I was looking for every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Holiday Requirements - An eve and a day. (Black Friday or Thanksgiving, Christmas eve or Christmas day, New Years Eve or New Years Days) Is there call or a standby requirement? - No Floating Requirements - Yes. Traveler would be the first to be pulled off the unit if needed. Rotational pull to the floor assignment (pull log dates kept by charge nurses). The pull to the floor assignment is typically 1 out of the 3 shifts. Scrub Color/Dress code - Royal blue scrubs Unit/Department specific orientation - Yes
