RN – Emergency Department (ED) | Night Shift
Location – Winston-Salem, North Carolina
Shift: 12-Hour Nights (1930–0730) | 36 hrs/week

Unit Details – Emergency Department
- Total ED Capacity:
- 55 horizontal beds
- 6 vertical care spaces
- 15 observation beds
- 5 behavioral health holding beds
- Average Daily Census: 200–220 patients/day
- Fast-paced regional trauma center
- Unit currently undergoing multi-phase renovation
- Receives frequent air transport trauma patients
- Two fixed-wing helicopter pads planned post-renovation
Experience Requirements
- Minimum: 2 years ED experience
- First-time travelers accepted only with:
- 3+ years Level I trauma experience
Patient Population & Cases
This ED manages high-acuity emergency and trauma patients including:
- Level I–V trauma
- Stroke / STEMI / Burn patients
- Gunshot wounds (GSWs)
- Stabbings & multi-system trauma
- Motor vehicle collisions (MVCs)
- Cardiac arrest / respiratory arrest
- Overdoses & psychosis
- Ventilator management
- Conscious sedation
- Defibrillation & pacing
- Sexual assault cases
- Drowning, falls, hypothermia
- Blunt trauma
Staffing & Ratios
