Unit & Facility Information

• Department: Emergency Department
• Unit Beds: 16
• Patient Ratios: Typically 5:1, may be pulled to full bed
• Patient Population: Geriatric, adult, pediatrics, OB
• Equipment Used: EKG, Ultrasound, LUCAS, EZ-IO, Omnicell, stretcher, wheelchair, Medtronic
• Electronic Health Record (EHR): MediTech
• Shift Availability: 1 night shift, 1 mid shift
• Weekly Guaranteed Hours: 36
• Weekend Hours: Every other weekend
• Call Requirements: None
• Dress Code: Any solid color scrub top and scrub pants; no ill-fitting, revealing, see-through, hoodies, t-shirts, sweatshirts, or spandex

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Virginia
• Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department (ED) nursing experience, including experience within the last year
• Certifications:

  • Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
  • Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC)
  • Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI)
  • National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
• Education: Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) / Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Common Diagnoses & Treatments

• Acute diagnostic and treatment cases typical to emergency care
