Dental Hygienist – Part-Time

📍 Coos Bay / North Bend, OR

Pay: $37.80 – $60.00/hour
Schedule: Part-Time | Non-Exempt

Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Dental Hygienist to join a dedicated dental team serving the Coos Bay / North Bend community. In this role, you will provide preventive, therapeutic, and educational dental services while supporting overall oral health and patient care initiatives.

This position is a covered role under the Coquille Indian Tribe Child Protection Ordinance, and all candidates must successfully complete required screenings.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform oral prophylaxis and periodontal treatments (scaling, root planning, curettage)
• Conduct patient screenings, exams, and health history reviews
• Develop and implement dental hygiene treatment plans
• Take and interpret dental radiographs
• Administer local anesthesia
• Provide patient education on oral hygiene and preventative care
• Maintain accurate charting, coding, and dental records
• Follow strict infection control and sterilization protocols
• Support clinic operations, including inventory, equipment maintenance, and opening/closing duties
• Participate in outreach and prevention programs (sealants, community education, etc.)

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Dental Hygienist program (required)
• Minimum 1 year of clinical experience
• Active Oregon Dental Hygiene License with Expanded Practice Permit
• Certifications in anesthesia and radiography
• Current BLS certification
• Valid Oregon driver’s license
• Experience working with Native American communities (preferred)

Additional Requirements

• Must pass drug screen, criminal background, and character check
• Must comply with mandatory reporter responsibilities
• Ability to work in a clinical environment with physical demands (standing, repetitive motion, lifting up to 25 lbs)
