Job Title: Sterile Processing Coordinator (Temp to Perm)

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise sterile processing technicians and coordinate daily staffing assignments
• Oversee decontamination, assembly, sterilization, and distribution of surgical instruments and equipment
• Ensure compliance with ANSI/AAMI standards, infection control practices, IFUs, and internal procedures
• Conduct quality assurance audits and maintain accurate documentation
• Train, mentor, and support competency development of SPD staff
• Coordinate equipment maintenance, troubleshooting, and calibration with maintenance teams
• Collaborate with leadership regarding scheduling, operational goals, and timekeeping
• Work closely with surgical and clinical departments to ensure instrument availability
• Promote workplace safety, regulatory compliance, and infection prevention standards
• Address customer service concerns and communicate feedback appropriately
• Assist with inventory management and supply reordering processes
• Support quality improvement initiatives and departmental KPI monitoring
• Provide direct supervision of sterile processing staff during assigned shifts
• Perform additional duties as assigned by leadership

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of sterile processing experience required
• Minimum 2 years of leadership or supervisory experience in healthcare or manufacturing environments required
• Strong knowledge of sterilization standards, OSHA regulations, and infection control practices
• Experience with surgical instruments and medical device reprocessing
• Strong organizational, leadership, and communication skills
• Ability to multitask and work independently in a fast-paced environment
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and timekeeping systems
• Team-oriented mindset with the ability to motivate and support staff

Education Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• College degree or 3+ years of leadership experience preferred

Required Certifications

One of the following certifications is required:

• CSPM – Certified Sterile Processing Management
• CRCST – Certified Registered Central Service Technician
• CSPDT – Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician
• CSIS – Certified Surgical Instrument Specialist
• Sterile Processing Certification accepted per facility requirements
