Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) – Labor & Delivery | Travel Position
We are seeking an experienced Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) with strong Labor & Delivery (L&D) experience to support a high-volume obstetrics surgical team. This role focuses heavily on assisting with cesarean section (C-section) procedures in a fast-paced acute care environment.
Position Details
- Position: Certified Surgical Technologist – Labor & Delivery
- Department: Labor & Delivery
- Shift: Rotating AM/PM shifts
- Employment Type: Travel Contract
- Location Requirement: Candidate must live at least 50 miles from the facility
Important Requirement
Do not submit candidates without recent Labor & Delivery experience.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain sterile surgical environments for L&D procedures
- Scrub and assist during cesarean sections and other obstetrical surgical procedures
- Anticipate surgeon and provider needs during operative cases
- Ensure surgical instruments and supplies are available and sterile
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, anesthesia staff, and the L&D care team
- Maintain patient safety and infection control standards throughout procedures
Required Qualifications
- NBSTSA Certification as a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) required
- Minimum 2 years of recent scrubbing experience in Labor & Delivery required
- Experience assisting with C-sections required
- BLS Certification required
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Completion of an accredited Surgical Technology program required
- OR certification/degree from an accredited nursing program
Required Skills
- Strong sterile technique and surgical assisting skills
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
- Ability to work efficiently in high-pressure situations
- Knowledge of obstetrical surgical procedures and instrumentation
