Job Title: Registered Nurse
Unit: Outpatient Surgery
Location: Augusta, GA 30901
Shift: Day-Hour (06:30 - 15:00)/ Day Hour (08:30 - 17:00)
Shift Length: 5x8 / 4x8
Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours per week
Duration: 14 weeks
Position Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) with a minimum of 2 years of experience in an Outpatient Surgery unit. The RN will provide pre-operative and post-operative patient care, assist with surgical procedures, monitor patient recovery, and ensure safe and effective patient outcomes. Candidates should possess strong clinical, assessment, and patient education skills in a fast-paced outpatient surgical setting. Responsibilities include medication administration, patient monitoring, care coordination, and accurate documentation while maintaining compliance with patient safety and surgical protocols.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Provide pre-operative and post-operative nursing care to patients in the outpatient surgery unit
- Assess patient conditions, monitor vital signs, and respond appropriately to changes in patient status
- Administer medications, IV therapy, and treatments in accordance with physician orders and surgical protocols
- Educate patients and families regarding surgical procedures, recovery instructions, and discharge care plans
- Maintain accurate documentation and collaborate with surgeons and interdisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure quality patient care
Skills:
- Strong pre-operative and post-operative patient assessment skills
- Experience with medication administration, IV therapy, and outpatient surgical care
- Knowledge of patient safety standards, infection control, and surgical protocols
- Excellent communication and patient/family education abilities
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced outpatient surgery environment with strong attention to detail
Documents Required:
- Valid GA State RN license
- ACLS Certified through AHA
- BLS Certified through AHA
- Registered Nurse (RN) with a minimum of 2 years of experience in an Outpatient Surgery unit.
