Rehab RN – Job Description

Location: Kerrville, TX
Department: Acute Rehab Unit (ARU)
Shift: 3x12 Day Shift (6:45 AM – 7:15 PM)
Duration: 13 weeks
Patient Ratio: 1:6
Weekend Requirement: Every Other Weekend
Float Requirement: Yes - may float to Med/Surg

Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years of Rehab RN experience required
• Previous travel experience required
• BLS required
• ACLS preferred
• Meditech charting experience required

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide nursing care to adult and geriatric patients in an acute inpatient rehab setting
• Care for patients with CVA, TBI, spinal cord injuries, Parkinson’s disease, orthopedic trauma, cardiac conditions, and debility
• Perform IV therapy including PICC line care, blood product administration, and IV medication management
• Monitor telemetry patients and respond appropriately to dysrhythmias and changes in patient condition
• Assist with mobility, rehabilitation support, wound care, and fall prevention
• Manage feeding tubes, Foley catheters, oxygen therapy, and tracheostomy care as needed
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including PT, respiratory therapy, pharmacy, radiology, and social services
• Document all patient care accurately in the EMR system
• Maintain patient safety and adherence to infection prevention protocols
