Pride Health is seeking an experienced Medical Laboratory Technologist/Technician for a 13-week travel assignment. This position requires a strong generalist background with blood bank experience preferred. The ideal candidate will be dependable, detail-oriented, and experienced in chemistry, hematology, coagulation, urinalysis, and blood bank testing.

Responsibilities

• Perform laboratory testing in Chemistry, Hematology, Coagulation, Urinalysis, and Blood Bank.
• Conduct blood bank testing including:
  • Blood typing (ABO/Rh)
  • Antibody screening
  • Compatibility testing
  • Quality control procedures
• Perform venipuncture and specimen collection.
• Operate and troubleshoot laboratory analyzers including:
  • Chemistry analyzers
  • UA analyzer
  • Hematology analyzer
  • Coagulation analyzer
• Complete daily quality control and preventative maintenance according to laboratory guidelines.
• Accurately document and report laboratory results in a timely manner.
• Perform miscellaneous testing including serology, microbiology, and microscopic testing.
• Maintain compliance with universal precautions, laboratory policies, and safety standards.
• Demonstrate professional communication with physicians, patients, lab staff, and other healthcare personnel.

Requirements

• Minimum experience as MT, MLT, or MLS in a hospital laboratory setting.
• Blood Bank experience preferred.
• Cerner EMR experience preferred.
• Strong troubleshooting and analyzer operation skills required.
• Venipuncture experience required.
• Ability to work independently on night shift.
