Description

Job Title: Nurse Educator 
Unit: Nursing Inservice Education
Location: New York, NY 10037
Shift: 8:00 AM-4:30 PM
Shift Length: 8 hours
Guaranteed Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Duration: 13 weeks

 

Position Summary:
We are seeking an experienced RN – Nurse Educator with recent experience in Nursing Inservice Education within an acute care hospital setting. The Nurse Educator will be responsible for staff education, orientation, competency assessments, and ongoing clinical training to support nursing excellence and patient care standards. Candidates should have prior Med/Surg nursing experience along with strong leadership, communication, and clinical education skills. Responsibilities include developing educational programs, ensuring regulatory compliance, and supporting nursing staff development. Applicants must hold an active NYS RN license and current BLS and ACLS certifications through AHA.

 

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Conduct nursing in-service education, staff orientation, and ongoing clinical training programs within the acute care setting
  • Develop and implement educational materials, competency assessments, and evidence-based learning initiatives for nursing staff
  • Support and mentor nurses in Med/Surg and other specialty units to ensure high-quality patient care and clinical performance
  • Monitor compliance with hospital policies, regulatory standards, patient safety practices, and nursing protocols
  • Collaborate with leadership and interdisciplinary teams to identify educational needs and improve staff development outcomes

Skills:

  • Strong clinical education, staff training, and competency assessment skills
  • Extensive knowledge of Med/Surg nursing practices and acute care hospital standards
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and mentoring abilities
  • Experience developing educational programs and ensuring regulatory compliance
  • Proficiency in patient safety practices, clinical documentation, and interdisciplinary collaboration

Documents Required:

  • Valid NY State RN license
  • ACLS Certified through AHA
  • BLS Certified through AHA
  • Covid vaccination card
  • RN – Nurse Educator with recent experience in Nursing Inservice Education within an acute care hospital setting.
