Surgical Technologist (OB Tech) – Birthing Pavilion
Location: Lebanon, NH
Unit: Birthing Pavilion / OB Surgical Services
Contract Length: 13 Weeks

Position Overview

D-H Medical Center is seeking an experienced Surgical Technologist (OB Tech) for its Birthing Pavilion department. The Surgical Tech will support obstetrical and surgical procedures in a fast-paced acute care environment while maintaining sterile technique and ensuring patient safety throughout perioperative procedures. The clinician will work collaboratively with surgeons, nurses, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams to provide high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain sterile surgical fields and instrumentation
• Organize surgical instruments, sutures, supplies, and equipment for procedures
• Assist surgeons and nursing staff during Cesarean Sections and OB surgical procedures
• Perform surgical scrubbing, gowning, and gloving procedures
• Assist with patient draping and operative area preparation
• Maintain accurate instrument, sponge, and needle counts during procedures
• Prepare operating rooms before procedures and clean rooms after procedures
• Ensure all surgical equipment is functioning properly before procedures
• Assist with patient positioning and intra-operative support
• Support emergent obstetrical and surgical cases as needed
• Maintain compliance with AST standards, aseptic technique, and infection control policies
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure quality patient care

Schedule & Shift Details

• Shift: 12 Hour PM-AM Rotating
• 36 hours scheduled weekly
• Rotating schedule based on department needs
• Emergent call only after orientation/training completion
• No trauma call required

Facility Information
• Critical access hospital environment
• Two operating rooms within the Birthing Pavilion
• Fast-paced Labor & Delivery and surgical services department
• Collaborative interdisciplinary care environment

 
Compensation
W2: $20/hour
Weekly Gross: $2350
Weekly Stipend: $1630
Requirements

• Active Surgical Technologist Certification preferred
• OB Tech and Labor & Delivery experience preferred
• Strong sterile and aseptic technique knowledge required
• Experience assisting with obstetrical surgical procedures preferred
• Ability to work independently in emergent situations
• Strong communication and teamwork skills required
• Ability to adapt quickly in a fast-paced surgical environment
