Director of Nursing (DON) – Full-Time | Salary/Exempt
📍 Location: Casa Blanca, New Mexico
🏥 Setting: Skilled Nursing / Long-Term Care
💰 Compensation
- Annual Salary: $93,600 – $110,989
- Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,800 – $2,135/week (based on salary range)
🎯 Additional Incentive:
- $200 Mileage Bonus per pay period for nursing staff traveling 40 miles roundtrip
- Bonus applies if no shifts are missed during the pay period
Overview
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Director of Nursing (DON) to lead our nursing department and oversee all clinical operations. This role ensures the highest standards of patient care, staff performance, and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily nursing operations, including staffing, scheduling, and clinical oversight
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations (CMS, DOH, etc.)
- Lead QAPI initiatives and monitor clinical outcomes
- Collaborate with Administrator, Medical Director, and interdisciplinary team
- Manage infection control, risk management, and patient safety programs
- Supervise, hire, train, and evaluate nursing staff (RNs, LPNs, CNAs)
- Ensure accurate documentation, care planning, and quality of care standards
- Prepare for surveys and maintain survey readiness
- Monitor staffing levels (PPD) and ensure adequate coverage
- Promote a culture of accountability, teamwork, and high-quality care
Qualifications
- Active, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Minimum 5 years of supervisory experience in a healthcare setting (LTC/SNF preferred)
- Strong knowledge of regulatory compliance, QAPI, and survey processes
- Proven leadership and staff management skills
- Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving abilities
- Experience with staffing, budgeting, and clinical operations
Requirements
- Nursing degree from an accredited program
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment
- Must pass background check, drug screening, and license verification
