Job: Registered Nurse – Operating Room

Location: Columbus, OH
Duration: 9 Weeks
Shift: Night Shift | 3x12 Hours (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
Start Date: 06/29/2026

Responsibilities:

• Provide perioperative nursing care in a Level 1 Trauma Operating Room setting.
• Circulate and scrub for a variety of surgical procedures including orthopedic, neurosurgery, spine, trauma, robotic, laparoscopic, transplant, ENT, plastics, ophthalmology, GYN, and urology surgeries.
• Assist surgical teams during complex operative procedures while maintaining sterile technique and patient safety standards.
• Monitor patients throughout surgical procedures and respond to intraoperative emergencies.
• Prepare and manage surgical instruments, supplies, and specialized OR equipment.
• Collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams.
• Maintain accurate surgical documentation using EPIC charting system.
• Float to different units within the OSU organization as needed.
• Participate in on-call rotation including weekday and weekend call coverage.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Active RN License required.
• Minimum 2 years of OR RN experience required.
• Strong circulating and scrub experience required, especially in Orthopedic, Neurosurgery, Spine, and General Surgery cases.
• BLS certification required.
• NIHSS certification preferred.
• Experience in Level 1 Trauma Centers preferred.
• Proficiency with EPIC charting system required.
• Experience with robotic, laparoscopic, trauma, transplant, and specialty surgical procedures preferred.
• Ability to work night shifts, on-call schedules, and weekend coverage as needed.
• Strong knowledge of sterile technique, surgical safety protocols, and infection prevention standards.
