Description

HIGHLIGHTS / MUST-HAVES

Minimum 3 years of L&D experience with triage experience

EPIC experience within past 2 years (nursing school experience does not count)
Must be able to circulate in the OR
Travelers with license hits involving diverting meds or endangerment will NOT be accepted

UNIT OVERVIEW

11 L&D beds
2 OR suites
4 triage beds
25 postpartum beds
Approximately 220 births per month
Ratios follow AWHONN guidelines (goal)

NRP
BLS
ACLS

COMMON PATIENT TYPES / DIAGNOSES

Active labor
Postpartum
Gestational hypertension
GDM

DRIPS / SKILLS

RNs titrate drips: Yes
Common drips:
- Pitocin
- Magnesium Sulfate
- Insulin

STAFFING / SUPPORT

Charge Nurse & House Supervisor support
2 surgical techs available 24/7
LPN support: 2 on days / 1 on nights
OB, Neonatologist, and anesthesia in house 24/7

UNIT DETAILS

EFM System: Obix
No tele/monitor techs
No RT equipment on unit

SCHEDULING

12-hour shifts (7:00–7:30)
Weekend requirement: Yes
No call or standby requirement for travelers
Floating required to postpartum as needed

SCRUBS / DRESS CODE

Navy blue
Hospital-provided jackets and scrubs for L&D nurses
