- # of Beds: 34 - Nurse:Patient Ratios: 1:1-2 ICU, PCU 1:4-5 and MS 1:5-6 - Common diagnoses/Types of patients: Adults and Peds >15 years old, Neuro surgery (initiating neuro interventionalist with thrombectomy program) - not required exp., Respiratory failure, ARDS, MODS, sepsis, stroke, cardiogenic shock (impella, balloon pump - not required exp.), renal failure (CRRT) - not required exp., general surgery, psych/OD, GI bleeds, cancer specific surgeries - esophagectomy, internal chemo administration, CVPs, Alines, Swans, EV-1000, ICP monitoring- all can train real time, Zoll -Thermoguard for hypothermia protocol, Bell Mont rapid transfuser - Are RNs required to titrate drips?: Yes - Common titratable &/or set rate drips: Vasopressors, paralytics, narcotics, sedation, antiarrhythmics - Is there a Charge Nurse on each shift? Does the charge nurse take an assignment?: Yes- will attend RRTs and Codes - Are there nurse aids/patient care techs on this unit? Ratios? Duties?: Yes- 1:18 - RT Equipment (Vents, Cpap, BiPap, High Flow, etc.) Are RNs required to do anything with these besides trouble shoot?: Nasal cannula to vents - Are there Tele/Monitor Techs on this unit? Are RNs required to read their own strips? What brand are the tele monitors?: No techs- Draeger heart monitoring with centralized telemetry monitoring. RNs need to be able to read and interpret. - Shifts & Scheduling (Do you allow self-scheduling? Block scheduling?): 0630-1830, 1830-0630 // manager will make schedule based on unit needs - Weekend Requirements: Every other- Holiday Requirements: 2 out of 3 major holidays or Every other or as needed for based on unit needs - Floating Requirements: Will float to all inpatient units, excluding Maternity/NICU - Scrub Color/Dress Code: Navy Blue
