Tell us about the unit(s):

·       Number of Beds: 2 OH Surgical Suites

·       Number of Staff: Varies on volume, 2 RN, 2 Techs

o   Day Shift: 2 RNs and 2 Techs

o   Night Shift: on call

·       Patient Ratios - 2:1

·       Type of Equipment: Open Heart instrumentation and supplies

·       Documentation System: n/a

·       Call Requirements: On-call is required; approximately every other day and every other weekend.

Typical Hiring Profile

 Must have: (candidates without these skills will not be considered for this role)

·       BLS, 2 years current experience in acute CVOR setting, must be able to Scrub assist in Open Heart cases

List Typical Procedures Performed on Unit(s):  

·       CABG, MVR, AVR, Pacemaker, laser lead extractions, some endovascular procedures and standby for TVAR and mitral clips

·       Prefer experience in minimally invasive cardiac procedures

·       May need to provide lunch relief in the following service lines:  Vascular, Robotics, General, Ortho, Neuro/Spine, Urology, Podiatry, Thoracic Surgery and Plastic Surgery

Additional Preferences: (ex: previous travel experience preferred, easily adaptable to fast paced unit, can function well independently)

·       The Cardiovascular Surgical Technologist assist a surgeon before, during, and after surgery under the direction and supervision of a RN according to accepted clinical standards of care.
