Ultrasound Technologist – Breast Imaging

Location: HMHN at Palisades
Department: Breast Center
Shift: Days | Monday–Friday
Schedule: Flexible | 40 hours/week

Required Experience

• Minimum 2 years of breast imaging experience required
• Strong preference for 5+ years of breast imaging experience

Required Certifications

• ARDMS certification required

Required Clinical Skills

• Breast diagnostic ultrasound
• Breast biopsies and interventional procedures
• Breast screening exams

Technical Competencies

Candidates must demonstrate strong proficiency in:

• Performing routine and complex breast ultrasound examinations
• Working with dense breast tissue, implants, masses, and varied patient presentations
• Doppler techniques for vascular assessment
• Optimizing diagnostic image quality through proper adjustment of:
  • Gain
  • Depth
  • Focus
  • TGC
• Understanding breast anatomy, pathology, and suspicious findings
• Operating and troubleshooting ultrasound equipment
• PACS image archiving and retrieval
• Assisting with ultrasound-guided breast biopsies and aspirations
• Maintaining sterile technique and patient safety standards
• Participating in quality assurance and equipment performance programs

• Ability to work independently in a specialized breast imaging setting
