Shift: Night 4x12-Hour (18:45 - 07:15)

Block Schedules: No

Note: ***Hard stop-Manager will not accept less than 1 year of past Med Surg experience- must be MS and not MS/tele in work history (I know it's a Ms/tele but must have specific MS in work history, per manager due to ratios on unit*** Must have total of 2 yrs hard stop- combo of 1 yr MS and 1 yr MS/tele, tele or PCU

Charting System: Required, Epic

 

REQUIRED SKILLS / CERTS / EXP:
Minimum Years of Experience: 2 years with 1 Year of direct MedSurg experience.
Traveler Experience: Unit WILL NOT Accept 1st Time Travelers (Must have at least 2 successful contracts before applying)
Locals Accepted / Rate Difference: Yes
Skills: IV Start and Telemetry, Interpretation of dysrhythmias and Management of dysrhythmias, Med/Surg neuro EXPERIENCE
Certs: BCLS, NIH, NIHSS, ACLS (preferred, not required)

PREFERRED SKILLS / CERTS / EXP:
Certs: ACLS

JOB DETAILS:
RATIOS: 1:6.
Unit will accept contracts for 13 weeks.
Unit will accept 36h or 48 hrs.
SHIFT: 12HR NIGHTS
If RTO includes weekends, time will be added to end of contract to make up for those dates.
Travelers are required to work every other weekend.
Float Requirement: Floating Required: floating required to any other MS/Tele areas, may include COVID care units. If the traveler calls in for a scheduled weekend shift, we will need to have them make up the weekend shifts based on the needs of the unit. Frequent floating may be required.

PATIENT DIAGNOSES: We care primarily for Stroke patients, but also care for possible Neurosurgery patients as well as other Neuro diagnoses, such as Epilepsy, Traumatic and non-traumatic subdural hematomas, and many more

SPECIAL PROCEDURES / UNIT DETAILS: We have a 4 BED Epilepsy Monitoring Unit (EMU). The unit trains our nurses for the EMU part and it does not typically affect our travelers unless we have trained them.

*If a traveler calls out of a shift, they are expected to make up that day the same week or at the end of their contract.
