Critical Care Float Registered Nurse (ICU Float RN)

Position Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and adaptable Critical Care Registered Nurse (RN) for a 13-week Critical Care Float assignment. The RN will provide high-quality patient care across multiple critical care environments and must be comfortable floating to various ICU-level units based on hospital needs. The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical judgment, critical thinking skills, and the ability to work effectively in fast-paced, high-acuity settings.

Assignment Details

• Duration: 13 Weeks
• Shift: 12-Hour Nights
• Schedule: 36 Hours per Week

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care to critically ill and high-acuity patients
• Perform comprehensive patient assessments and monitor changes in condition
• Interpret cardiac rhythms and respond appropriately to emergencies
• Administer IV medications, titratable drips, blood products, and critical care therapies
• Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, and interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient care plans
• Operate and monitor critical care equipment including cardiac monitors, infusion pumps, and ventilators
• Respond rapidly to emergency situations and code events
• Maintain accurate and timely electronic documentation
• Float to multiple critical care units as required by facility needs

Required Qualifications

• Active RN License
• Minimum recent Critical Care / ICU experience required
• BLS Certification required
• ACLS Certification required
• Epic EMR experience preferred
• Strong experience with cardiac monitoring and high-acuity patient care
• Ability to adapt quickly to different unit environments and workflows

Preferred Skills

• Experience floating between ICU specialties
• Ventilator and hemodynamic monitoring experience
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Experience with rapid response and emergency situations
• Ability to work independently in fast-paced critical care settings
