Job Description

Type of Patients on Unit: Respiratory, Medical Telemetry, some surgical, sepsis, DKA, Altered Mental Status, Failure to Thrive, Respiratory Failure, and most any acute on chronic medical condition

Call Requirements: None

Float Requirements: yes – IMC RN’s may float to another IMC level of care unit within MMC. IMC RN’s will float to med/surg as needed. Med/surg RN’s may float to another med/surg unit with similar level of care. Floating is based on unit need and skill as well as the needs of nursing units.

Number of Beds:  43

Patient Ratios: Day Shift Med/Surg 1:4-5, Night Shift Med/surg 1:5-6, Day and Night IMC 3:1

Equipment: Specific to our IMC patients: Ventilators, BiPaP, CPAP. Both IMC and Med Tele equipment: CPAP, Nasal Cannula, Non – Rebreather, Epidural pumps, IV pumps, specialty beds, PCA pumps, VAC dressings, Trach care/maintenance

EMR: Epic

 

Requirements:

1-2YRS+ Exp Working in Specialty 

1-2YRS+ Exp Working Only in Acute Care Setting 

ACTIVE BLS (AHA)

Must Have Skills/Experience: IMC RN’s must have Vent experience. All RN’s must have experience with tracheostomy’s and ready/interpreting telemetry strips
