Position Details
Location: Sumner, WA
Setting: School-based
Age Group: Elementary-aged students
Dates: September 2026 – June 2027
Schedule: Full-time
Pay: $55–$65 per hour, depending on experience
Role Overview
As a school-based Occupational Therapist, you will support students by assessing their motor, sensory, functional, and developmental needs within the educational setting. You will collaborate with teachers, families, and school teams to help students access their learning environment and build the skills needed for participation and success at school.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide occupational therapy services to students in accordance with IEP goals
- Conduct evaluations, screenings, and progress monitoring as needed
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans and therapy interventions
- Support students with fine motor, visual motor, sensory processing, self-regulation, adaptive, and school participation needs
- Participate in IEP meetings and collaborate with multidisciplinary school teams
- Recommend accommodations, strategies, and adaptive equipment as appropriate
- Maintain accurate documentation, service logs, and progress reports
- Communicate with families, teachers, and staff regarding student progress and classroom support strategies
Qualifications
- Degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy program
- Active Washington OT license or eligibility
- Previous school-based or pediatric experience preferred
- Ability to work collaboratively with students, families, teachers, and related service providers
- Knowledge of IEP processes and special education documentation preferred
- Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
