Description
Travel Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA/OTA) – Long Term Care (LTC)
Location: Haskell, TX
Schedule: 8-Hour Day Shifts
Guaranteed Hours: 40 Hours per Week
Weekend Requirement: None
On-Call Requirement: None
Responsibilities
- Implement individualized treatment plans developed by the Occupational Therapist.
- Guide residents through therapeutic exercises and activities designed to improve strength, coordination, balance, and motor skills.
- Assist patients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including dressing, bathing, grooming, feeding, and mobility tasks.
- Educate patients and caregivers on adaptive techniques and the proper use of assistive devices and adaptive equipment.
- Monitor patient progress and communicate treatment outcomes to the supervising Occupational Therapist.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient treatments and responses.
- Prepare treatment areas, maintain equipment, and ensure a safe therapy environment.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to support quality resident care.
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of Occupational Therapy Assistant experience in a Long-Term Care setting required.
- Active Texas OTA License or Compact License required.
- Director of Rehabilitation (DOR) experience preferred.
- Strong communication, patient care, and documentation skills.
