Schedule & Assignment Details

• Start Date: ASAP
• Contract Length: Traveler's choice of 13-week or 26-week assignment
• Shift Options:
  • 4x12 Variable
  • 3x12 Variable (Traveler's choice)
• Caregivers are generally assigned either Days or Nights based on facility needs at the time of start.
• Staff are not routinely required to rotate between day and night shifts, except in occasional urgent staffing situations.
• Patient Ratio: 1:20
• On-Call Requirement: No
• Floating: Yes, clinicians must float within scope to meet facility needs.
• Block Scheduling: Not available

Certification Requirement During Orientation

All caregivers working in the LTC facility are required to obtain the Alaska Food Worker Certification.

• Certification is completed during on-site orientation
• Not required prior to start date
• One-time certification fee: $10

Candidate Eligibility Requirements

• Local Candidates Accepted: No
  • Permanent residence must be at least 50 miles from the facility
• Guaranteed Hours: 60 hours per 2 weeks
• Traveler may be called off for one 12-hour shift per 2-week period

Requested Time Off (RTO) Requirements

For 26-Week Contracts

• Maximum of 2 weeks RTO will be considered.

Holiday Requirements

• Must be willing to work at least 2 of the 3 major winter holidays:
  • Thanksgiving
  • Christmas
  • New Year's Day
• Preference is given to travelers willing and able to work all holidays.

Traveler Vehicle Program Requirements

The facility will arrange a vehicle for traveler use during the assignment. The vehicle may be either a facility-owned vehicle or a rental vehicle.

Vehicle Usage Guidelines

• Available no earlier than 72 hours before contract start
• Must be returned within 24 hours after contract completion
• Only the traveler is authorized to operate the vehicle
• A valid driver's license and proof of insurance are required prior to vehicle use
• Traveler's personal auto insurance policy must include rental vehicle coverage
• Vehicle use is limited to local travel and must remain within a 30-mile radius of the facility
• Off-road use is prohibited
• Travelers taking time off during the assignment must return the vehicle and will receive a replacement upon return
• Tire chains are available at an additional cost billed to the traveler
• Vehicle must be returned:
  • Cleaned
  • With a full tank of gas
