- Job Title: NICU/Postpartum RN
- Term: 13-Week Long Term Assignment (LTA)
- Dates: 06/28/2026 – 09/26/2026
- Shift: 18:45 – 07:15 (Night Shift) | 12-hour shifts
- On-Call: Yes (Required)
Role Overview
This position is within the Maternal Child Health department. The selected RN will provide direct patient care, working collaboratively with unit leadership under the governing standards of AWONN, ACOG, NNA, and AORN.
Key Responsibilities & Requirements
- Couplet Care Specialty: Candidates must have solid Postpartum experience and the ability to independently care for mother/baby couplets, as the traveler will staff the Postpartum unit frequently.
- Clinical Scope: Deliver structured, person-centered care encompassing the physical, psychological, emotional, and spiritual needs of families.
- Critical Thinking: Proactively identify deviations from normal parameters in neonatal and maternal health and adjust care plans accordingly.
- Collaborative Practice: Act as a resource to peers and seamlessly coordinate with the multidisciplinary healthcare team.
Unit Description: The Cayuga Birthplace
Opened in 2014 and located on the first floor, this state-of-the-art maternal-child health wing features:
- 6 Labor and Delivery (L&D) Rooms & 2 Labor Triage Rooms
- 11 Postpartum Rooms
- Level II Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), featuring 4 single-family NICU rooms designed for individualized, family-centered infant care.
- Dedicated Cesarean Section Surgical Operating Room & PACU within the suite.
- Note: Staff in this unit are Postpartum trained and cross-trained to L&D, NICU, or both.
Position Requirements
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of recent experience in NICU, Postpartum, or Mother/Baby care.
- Licensure: Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of New York.
- Certifications: BLS/AHA, NRP, and other standard maternal/neonatal certifications as required by the facility.
