Department: Emergency Room | RN ER RN/ Float MedSurg Prefer Charge Experience- ND - Trauma Level: Trauma Level IV, Acute Stroke Ready Hospital. - # Beds/Trauma Bays: 2 ER rooms with 1 overflow room if needed. - Do you have a Fast Track: No, triage at bedside. - Do you have a separate holding area in the ER: No - Do you have separate Psych/seclusion rooms: No - Is Security in-house 24/7: No, 911 for sheriff. - On average, how many patients do you treat in the ER/day: Average 4-5 patients per day. - Nurse: Patient Ratios: 2 patients per nurse- Charge. - Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS (TNCC preference). - Common diagnoses/Types of patients: Acute illnesses, Lacerations, ortho, trauma, cardiac- ship out STEMI. - Experience: ER experience in similar settings. - Common drips: Heparin, Cardizem, Nitro. - ED Physician/Mid-Levels: MDs and Residents- after they leave 15 15-minute response time. - Charge Nurse: Charge nurse responsible for ER patients- throughout no assignment. - Nurse aids/EMT/Paramedics/Patient Sitters: CNAs from med/surg are available to help, EMS staff may be available to help on request. - Is RT in the ER 24/7: No RT Currently. ABG: Lab draws, Breathing Treatment: RN does; EKG- RN does. - RT Equipment: RN to do all RT equipment Set-up except CRNA will help with vents. - Do you have Monitor Techs in the ER: No, RN read tele strips, Mindray monitors. - X-Ray or CT in the ER?: Radiology on call after hours for xray and CT. They transport but may require help at times. - Does Phlebotomy draw labs or RN's draw: Phlebotomy draws labs- RN not usually. - Shifts & Scheduling: Self Scheduling, 7-7 manager to balance, consider block scheduling on a case-to-case basis. - Weekend Requirements: Every other potentially every third weekend. - Holiday Requirements: Every other. - Is there call or a standby requirement: Low census on-call for extra shifts. - Floating Requirements: Float to MS units. - Scrub Color: Any color/pattern scrubs ok. Closed toe shoes. - Unit/Department specific orientation: 1 and 1 night shifts on the unit. Entered On: 9/25/2023
