Description
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum 2 years of Surgical Assistant experience in a CVOR setting
- Strong Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) background
- Experience working independently with minimal supervision
- Graduation from an accredited Surgical Assistant program/school
- BLS certification
- Recent experience with:
- CABG (Coronary Artery Bypass Grafting)
- TAVR (Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement)
- Valve Replacement procedures
- Thoracic surgeries (including robotic cases)
- Generator Exchanges
- Lead Extractions
- Heart Transplants
- Fem-Pop Bypass procedures
- Experience in a fast-paced, high-volume surgical environment
- Experience with EPIC charting system
- Ability to take call and meet a 30-minute response time
- Comfortable with:
- 2 overnight call shifts per pay period
- 1 weekend call per month
- 1 holiday call during the assignment
Preferred Qualifications:
- CSFA (Certified Surgical First Assistant)
- Previous travel experience (first-time travelers not recommended)
- Experience with robotic thoracic procedures
- Experience in Level I, II, or III Trauma Centers
- Experience in large academic or tertiary care hospitals
