Emergency Room Registered Nurse (ER RN) | Nights | Yakima, WA | 13-Week Contract

Position Details
• Position: Emergency Room Registered Nurse (ER RN)
• Location: Union Gap Off-Campus ED – Union Gap, WA
• Contract Length: 13 Weeks
• Shift: 12-Hour Nights
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 Hours per Week
• Schedule: 6-week scheduling blocks
• Weekend Requirement: Every Other Weekend
• Holiday Requirement: Negotiable
• RTO: Up to 5 days

Facility Information
• Brand-new Emergency Department
• 8–10 beds
• Open 24/7
• Small acute care environment with diverse patient populations

Patient Population
• Neonates through Geriatrics
• Approximately 25% Pediatrics
• Cardiac, Neuro, GI, Respiratory, Psych
• Walk-in traumas and emergency cases
• Frequent high-acuity presentations, including GSWs

Patient Ratios
• Primary Assignment: 1:4
• Fast Track: 1:6 (RN/NP team model)

Required Qualifications
• Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department experience
• First-time travelers accepted
• Active RN License
• BLS
• ACLS
• PALS
• Advanced NRP
• NIHSS
• TNCC

Required Skills
• Strong Emergency Department experience
• Excellent IV skills
• Chest tube management
• Central line care
• Medication administration and mixing
• Strong customer service and communication skills
• Ability to manage high-acuity patients independently

Unique Clinical Responsibilities
• No Respiratory Therapist onsite
• RNs manage ventilators and BiPAP (training provided)
• No onsite Pharmacist
• Medication preparation performed under pharmacy video supervision
• Charge nurse responsibilities may be required (training available)

• EST/Phlebotomy Support

• EPIC EMR
• Pyxis
• Alaris Pumps

Orientation & Training
• Hospital Orientation

• 8-Hour Respiratory/Ventilator Class
• Full Unit Orientation
• Telemetry Competency Required Prior to Start
