Required Skills

• Proficiency in general and specialty ultrasound, including:
  • Breast ultrasound
  • Carotid studies
  • DVT studies
  • Screening aorta
  • Abdominal and soft tissue exams
• Ability to work independently and manage a varied daily case load (average 8–10 patients per day)
• Strong understanding of cross-sectional anatomy and ultrasound physics
• Skilled in operating GE ultrasound machines and using EPIC and PACS
• Consistent use of sterile technique and best practices to prevent cross-contamination
• Excellent communication and patient-care skills, demonstrating compassion, respect, and professionalism
• Ability to organize, verify, and analyze data in multi-step imaging procedures

Nice to Have Skills

• Ability to perform X-rays in addition to ultrasound
• Experience assisting with training or mentoring students, trainees, or new staff
• Familiarity with developing or refining ultrasound techniques and protocols

Preferred Education and Experience

• Specialty/Major: Ultrasound
• At least 1 year of full-time clinical experience in radiologic technology or another imaging modality, including didactic training consistent with American Society of Radiologic Technology standards, or completion of a comparable imaging training program
• 2+ years of ultrasound experience preferred, particularly in an independent practice setting

Other Requirements

• Certified in ultrasonic technology by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (RDMS) – required
• Current, active, non-expired BLS certification – required
• ACLS certification – preferred
• Ability to work 10-hour day shifts (8:30 a.m.–6:00 p.m.) and/or 8:00 a.m.–4:30 p.m. shifts
• No weekends or on-call required
