GLC Government Services is seeking a Dental Hygienist to work on a government contract at the Federal Correctional Institution in Bastrop, TX, providing care for adult male inmates in custody.

Facility: Health Services Department, Federal Correctional Institution, Bastrop, TX Schedule: Monday–Friday, 40 hours per week, 7:30 AM–4:00 PM (30-minute unpaid lunch, excluding federal holidays)

Pay Rate: $53.59 per hour

Qualifications

• Licensed/certified as a Registered Dental Hygienist in the state of Texas
• Dental radiology certification required; anesthesia certification preferred but not required
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience preferred but not required
• BLS certification through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross
• Ability to work with inmates from diverse cultural, regional, racial, and ethnic backgrounds

Scope of Work (includes but is not limited to)

• Provide dental prophylaxis, preventive oral health services, and periodontal care
• Deliver individualized oral hygiene instructions and monitor the patient's oral health
• Complete dental X‑rays as directed by the dentist
• Perform suture removal, administer local anesthetic, and provide other services if trained
• Sterilize instruments and maintain infection control procedures
• Oversee housekeeping and infection control by health services workers
• Manage scheduling, documentation, and data entry into the agency’s electronic system
• Maintain medical records and confidentiality
• Follow BOP Dental Service policies, including employee conduct, security, infection control, waste management, and data management
• Perform additional reasonable tasks as assigned by supervisory staff
• Physical requirements: long periods of standing, walking, sitting, and bending; occasional lifting of boxes/equipment up to 35 pounds
