Anatomic Pathology Operations Manager

New York
Full-Time | Day Shift

Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Anatomic Pathology Operations Manager to lead and coordinate daily operations across histology, cytology, and MOHS laboratories. This leadership role ensures high-quality testing, regulatory compliance, and operational excellence across the department.

Schedule

Shift: Days (Monday–Friday)
Hours: 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM
Weekly Hours: 37.5
Weekends/Holidays: Rotating

Compensation

Salary Range: $111,376 – $167,066 annually
Equivalent Hourly: $57.12 – $85.67
Full benefits package + retirement plan

Responsibilities

Oversee operations of histology, cytology, and MOHS labs
Lead and supervise pathology leadership staff including supervisors and cytotechnologists
Ensure compliance with hospital policies and regulatory/accreditation standards
Manage quality control programs and reporting
Monitor turnaround times and lab performance metrics
Develop departmental budgets, goals, and operational plans
Hire, train, evaluate, and mentor staff
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and leadership
Maintain vendor relationships and oversee lab systems/software optimization
Support a positive culture with strong customer service and staff engagement

Requirements

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Clinical Technology or related science
Experience: Minimum 6 years of hospital laboratory experience
Licensure: Active New York State License (Clinical Laboratory Technologist, Cytotechnologist, Histotechnologist, or Pathologists’ Assistant required)
Certifications:
- Required: BLS
- Preferred: ASCP Certification
