Description
MVHS is seeking an experienced Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU/PCU) Registered Nurse for a 13-week night shift assignment. This high-acuity stepdown unit cares for a diverse adult population including cardiac, neuro, trauma, respiratory, and post-operative patients.
Ideal candidates will have strong PCU/IMCU experience and be comfortable caring for complex patients requiring advanced monitoring and specialty equipment.

Candidates should be comfortable working with:
- Temporary Pacemakers
- Chest Tubes
- Arterial Lines (A-Lines)
- BiPAP
- Neptune Vapo Systems
- Chronic Ventilator Patients
- Respiratory Therapy available for support
Core Responsibilities
- Care for high-acuity stepdown patients
- Perform comprehensive assessments and continuous monitoring
- Manage cardiac and neurological patients
- Interpret telemetry findings and escalate changes in condition
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams
- Provide safe, evidence-based nursing care
- Float to appropriate units based on census and staffing needs
Requirements
Experience
✅ Minimum 2 years IMCU/PCU experience
✅ Travel nursing experience preferred
✅ High-acuity stepdown experience strongly preferred
License Requirements
- Active New York RN License
- NURSYS verification required for all active RN licenses
Certifications Required
- BLS (AHA)
- ACLS (AHA)
