Description
Emergency Room (ER) Registered Nurses provide critical, fast-paced care to patients facing urgent and often life-threatening conditions. They are highly skilled in quickly assessing situations, identifying emergencies, and delivering immediate interventions.
ER RNs care for a wide range of patients—from minor illnesses to severe trauma and cardiac events—across all age groups and backgrounds. Their role includes stabilizing patients in crisis, managing pain, and coordinating rapid care to ensure the best possible outcomes.
These nurses work in dynamic environments including hospital emergency departments (ER/ED), trauma centers, ambulances, air transport services, urgent care facilities, and other high-acuity settings.
Trauma centers are classified by levels (I–III) based on available resources and patient volume. Level I facilities provide the highest level of comprehensive care for all injuries, while Level III centers offer more limited services focused on stabilization and transfer when needed.
