Medical Technologist (Chemistry) – Night Shift
Location: Cambridge, Massachusetts
Specialty: Medical Technologist (Allied Health) – Chemistry & Diagnostic Immunology
Shift: Nights (11:15 PM – 7:15 AM)
Hours: 40 Hours/Week Guaranteed
Shift Length: 8 Hours
Contract Length: 13 Weeks
Assignment Dates: June 22, 2026
Job Description:
CHA Cambridge Hospital is seeking an experienced Medical Technologist to join its Chemistry Laboratory team on a night-shift travel contract. The selected candidate will perform clinical chemistry and diagnostic immunology testing while ensuring compliance with quality standards and laboratory protocols.
Responsibilities
Perform clinical chemistry and immunology testing
Conduct quality control (QC) and proficiency testing
Process specimens and accurately report test results
Perform STAT and routine laboratory testing
Troubleshoot laboratory instruments and equipment
Utilize Meditech for laboratory documentation and data entry
Assist with training and onboarding of new laboratory staff
Participate in workflow optimization and quality improvement initiatives
Support departmental operations, including possible on-call responsibilities
Requirements:
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in medical technology, Medical Laboratory Science, or related field
Certifications:
ASCP MLS/MT preferred
Equivalent certifications accepted (AMT, NCA, HEW)
Current AHA BLS Certification required
Experience:
Minimum 3 years of recent Medical Technologist experience
Strong experience in Chemistry and Immunology testing
Experience with EPIC preferred/required
Meditech experience preferred
Important Notes
Candidate must be local to the facility
Night, weekend, and holiday coverage required
