Qualifications:
- Associate’s Degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program
- Active Illinois COTA license
- School-based or pediatric experience preferred
- Ability to work collaboratively with an Occupational Therapist and school team
- Strong communication, organization, and documentation skills
Job Details:
- Position: Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant
- Location: Rockford, IL
- Dates: August 2026 through July 2027
- Setting: School-based, therapeutic school/new campus
- Schedule: Part-time, 15–20 hours per week minimum
- Hours: Additional hours may be available based on caseload needs
- Caseload: To be determined, as this is a new campus
- Pay Rate: $30-$38 per hour
- Supervision: Client will provide OT supervision for a COTA
Role Overview:
As a COTA, you will support students in a school setting by implementing occupational therapy interventions under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist. This role offers the opportunity to help students build functional, motor, sensory, and self-regulation skills that support their participation and success in the educational environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide occupational therapy services under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist
- Implement treatment plans and interventions aligned with students’ IEP goals
- Support students with fine motor, sensory processing, self-care, and functional school-based skills
- Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and school staff to promote student progress
- Document services and student progress in accordance with school and compliance requirements
- Participate as part of a collaborative educational team
