- Note: HARDSTOP - 2 years of MS experience - ONC experience preferred or willing to obtain ONC cert
- Certfications: BLS, Chemo (ONS/ONCC)
- Manager is looking for Medsurg skilled RNs for this MS/Onc unit.
REQUIRED SKILLS / CERTS / EXP:
Minimum Years of Experience: 2 year
Traveler Experience: Will accept 1st time travelers.

Skills: Experience in an inpatient setting is required, Med/Surg, Colostomy care, Accessing Ports, Blood Product Administration, Central line blood draw, Peripheral Line Care/Management, PICC line management, Heparin, Insulin, Surgical drains, Chest tubes-Emerson/Pleur-evac, Nasal Cannula, Non-invasive airway management, Isolation Precautions, Wound Care/Wound Vac
Certs: TRAVELER MUST HAVE ONC CERT! Traveler must be able to administer chemo if needed. BLS
PREFERRED SKILLS / CERTS / EXP: CPI. Charge nurse experience, OCN
JOB DETAILS:
***Primarily Medical Surgical patients with Oncology history***
Target Ratios: 1:6
Shift:NIGHTS
13-26 weeks accepted
Call Requirement: Call required if called off on a prescheduled shift.
Float Requirement: Floating required to similar units and alternate care locations with inpatients holding, such as inpatient holding in the ED, or any alternate medical patient care location.
Weekend Requirement: *EVERY OTHER WEEKEND REQUIRED.
** Contract staff will be assigned and expected to work a Storm Team and/or Hurricane Team. Contract staff may be required to report to work during a catastrophic event, mass casualty or disaster. Consolidation to the Centralized Office mid contract may occur and the contract staff may be preassigned to units as needed
PATIENT DIAGNOSES: General medical-surgical diagnosis primary patient population. Administration of chemotherapy/biotherapy -IV, PO, or injection.
AKI, Sepsis, Cancer, Septic shock, Pain, OD, Malignant Neoplasms, ARF, Encephalopathy, FTT, Diabetic foot ulcers, Heparin drips,
SPECIAL PROCEDURES / UNIT DETAILS: Daily Census 42.
During times of increased census, typical ratios may be higher.
Contract staff will be assigned equally to the home unit staff to ensure that patients are covered with a registered nurse
Contract staff will be assigned and expected to work a Storm Team and/or Hurricane Team
Contract staff may be required to report to work during a catastrophic event, mass casualty, or disaster
Contract staff may be preassigned to units as needed
Like units includes floating to inpatient holding in the ED, or any alternate medical patient care location.
Shifts called out will need to have make up shifts rescheduled.
Attendance to monthly staff meetings.
UNIT SYSTEMS (Medication, Documentation, Communication): PYXIS, EPIC, SBAR.
UNIT ORIENTATION: 24 hrs (2 shifts)
SCRUBS: Navy Blue and white.
