Description
Job Description: Malone Healthcare is seeking a highly skilled, adaptable Emergency Room RN for a 13-week travel assignment at Onvida Health Yuma Medical Center in Yuma, AZ. This is a high-volume, fast-paced emergency department treating an average of 200 patients per day. Though designated as a Level III Trauma Center, it is run with the acuity and intensity of a Level I environment.
Position Highlights:
- Start Date: June 29, 2026 (Firm, non-flexible)
- Shift: Nights (12-hour shifts) | Varied staggered start times (e.g., 7 PM, 10 PM, 11 PM)
- Contract Length: 13 Weeks
- Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours/week (No 48-hour guarantees available)
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum 2 years of dedicated Emergency Room experience.
- Trauma Requirement: Must have documented, cumulative experience in a Level I or Level II Trauma Center within the last 2 years. (Level III or Critical Access hospital experience alone cannot be considered).
- Recent EPIC EMR proficiency (must have utilized EPIC within the past 5 years).
- Active Compact or AZ State RN License in hand.
- Certifications Required: AHA BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NIHSS.
- TNCC is strongly preferred.
Unit Details & Clinical Setting:
- Department Capacity: 52 beds, including 4 dedicated trauma bays and 6 Fast Track beds.
- Ratios: 1:5 for Medical ER; 1:6 for Fast Track.
- Skillset: Strong telemetry interpretation skills (RNs must read their own tele strips alongside monitor tech cross-checks). Comfort with handling ICU drips for holding patients (ICU staff floats down to assist when available).
- Support Staff: Free-charge nurse on every shift, 24/7 assigned Respiratory Therapists, in-house Security stationed directly in the ED, and highly trained ED Techs handling blood draws, EKGs, and splinting.
Rules, Scheduling, & Logistics:
- 100-Mile Local Radius Rule: Permanent address must be over 100 miles from the facility to qualify for travel rates.
- RTO Restrictions: Maximum of 5 days of RTO allowed for the entire contract. Must be submitted upfront.
- Scheduling Flexibility: Modified self-scheduling is utilized. Must commit to 4 weekend shifts per 4-week block and a rotating holiday commitment (typically 2 out of 5 major holidays, counting the eves). No blocked schedules.
- Floating: Must be willing to work a shared schedule with the Foothills freestanding ER facility (located just a 15-minute drive away). Schedules are usually posted in advance.
- Scrub Code: Solid Navy Blue.
- Orientation: 3 total shifts (1 day NEO, 1 day clinical/EPIC check-off, 1 day on the floor).
