Description
Shift: 12 hour days, 0600-1830
Clinical Interview & Manager for final interview
UNIT: MRI
Certs Required: BLS, ARRT (MR) or ARMRIT
Experience Required: 1 year. Examines requests and verifies orders on each patient. Questions orders to the Radiologist before performing exam or contacts ordering provider when there are discrepancies.
Properly identify (Using two patient identifiers) and assist patients while offering a brief explanation of the procedures. Prepares patients for the procedure with a full explanation and documents.
Interviews patients for a complete medical history. Reviews in-patients, ER, and outpatients EMR’s to obtain pertinent clinical history
Assumes responsibility for the exam from beginning of exam until completion of dictated results.
Prepares and administers IV contrast according to departmental protocols.
Evaluates technical quality of images and consults with a Radiologist if needed.
Performs basic patient care functions. Informs appropriate nursing personnel of any changes in the patient’s condition. Initiates life support measures for patients when necessary.
Performs all invasive procedures in accordance with bloodborne pathogens, isolation, and infection control policies and procedures.
Patient Types/Common Diagnoses:
Areas served – ED, Inpatient units, Outpatient
Neuro deficit, Acute, Stroke suspected (Brain); Seizures; Prostate Cancer; Diabetic foot; Pancreatic cyst; IBS/Crohn’s disease
Department will serve ED, Inpatient, Observation, and Outpatient patients
Department will care for a large population of medical device patients
Will perform cases with anesthesia as needed.
Department does provide cardiac imaging
Department does provide pediatric imaging with and without anesthesia
Technology/Equipment:
o EMR: EPIC
o RIS: Epic Radiant
o PACS: Philips iSite
o Department specific Equipment:
▪ 1 – GE – 1.5 SIGNA Artist 450W
▪ 1 – Siemens – 3T Skyra
Scrub Color: Black scrubs
