Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA)
Location: California
Setting: Rehabilitation / Therapy Services
Weekend Requirement: Every Other Weekend (EOW) Coverage Required
Job Summary
Seeking a dedicated Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to support rehabilitation services by assisting with physical therapy treatments and therapeutic procedures. The PTA will work under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist to help patients improve mobility, restore function, and achieve rehabilitation goals while ensuring safe, high-quality patient care.
Required Qualifications
- Active Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) License (as required by state regulations)
- BLS Certification
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in implementing physical therapy treatment plans established by the supervising Physical Therapist
- Provide therapeutic interventions designed to improve mobility, strength, balance, and functional independence
- Document patient progress and treatment outcomes
- Modify specific treatments within the scope of the established plan of care and applicable state regulations
- Monitor patient responses to therapy and communicate findings to the supervising Physical Therapist
- Educate patients and caregivers regarding treatment goals and therapeutic exercises
- Maintain compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations, policies, and safety standards
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to support optimal patient outcomes
