Shift- 8hr Day Shift - 40

Shift Information- Weekdays with no call

SimpliFi Clinical Interviewing- Yes/No- Yes - Manager to conduct final interview

On Call, Call Back Requirements- n/a

Weekend Rotation- Typically none, but could be asked to work a Sunday at some point

Holiday Requirements- None

Floating Requirements- Portables at bedside for inpatients

 

JOB DESCRIPTION

Cardiac Sonographer


●        About Facility:

o   300 Emergency Drive Lexington, NC 27292

o   96 licensed beds

o   Not trauma designated

o   Teaching system, but we do not have residents at LMC

o   Not a chest pain center

o   Primary Stroke Center

●        Unit Information:

o   Beds: 2 dedicated rooms, although many of our exams are done portably

▪          Average patients/day: Daily volume is around 16 patients divided between two Sonographers

o   Minimum Years of Experience required? 2 years of Echo experience, at least 1 of these years needs to be acute experience

o   Will you accept a first-time traveler? Will take first time traveler with 5+ years of acute experience (will accept some outpatient experience mixed in there)

●        Patient Types/Common Diagnoses:

o   Mostly adult population

o   Will see inpatient, outpatient (75% of patients), and ER patients

o   Must be competent in the following exams: Stress, Strain, Contrast, Bubble Study, Stress Echo, pre-TAVRs, and TEEs. 

●        Required License, National Certification, Certs:

o   BLS

o   ARDMS-RDCS or CCI  

●        Skills required:

o   Experience with above patient types and exams

o   Must be comfortable working independently.

●        Support within the Department:

o   1 other Echo Tech

o   Supervisor (General Imaging)

o   Assistant/Transporter for entire department

o   RT 24/7

o   Hospitalist 24/7

o   Rapid Response/Code Team 24/7

o   Cardiologist on-site each morning (for stress echoes) and easily reachable throughout the rest of the day by phone once in clinic

●        Technology/Equipment:

o   EMR: EPIC – preferred experience

o   Ultrasound equipment: Philips Echo

o   PACS system: Philips Intellispace

●        Floating: If yes, where?

o   Portables at bedside for inpatients

●        Orientation (facility and unit):

o   NEO

o   Remainder of 1st week will be orienting

●        Scheduling:

o   Weekend rotation: Typically none, but could be asked to work a Sunday at some point. Would know in advance

o   On call? No

o   Holiday Expectations: None

o   Shift times: Typically 10h Days, 0700-1700. Manager open to block scheduling if requested, but no guarantees.

o   Schedule cycle: Schedule made a month at a time
