Description

Job Title: Travel Operating Room RN - Days (3x12s)

Job Description: Malone Healthcare is hiring an experienced Travel Operating Room RN for a 13-week contract at a premier Intermountain Health facility in Lafayette, CO (Denver metro area). This day-shift position requires a skilled perioperative clinician ready to hit the ground running in a state-of-the-art surgical suite. Weekly Schedule:

  • Shift: Days, 3x12-Hour shifts
  • Hours Guaranteed: 36 hours per week
  • Start Date: June 29, 2026
  • On-Call: Departmental call rotation and on-call during shifts may be required based on surgical volume.

Position Requirements:

  • Experience: Minimum 1–2 years of dedicated acute care Operating Room (circulating) experience. Strong knowledge of sterile processing and surgical workflow protocols is required.
  • Licensure: Active Colorado (CO) state nursing license or multi-state Compact license.
  • Certifications: Active American Heart Association (AHA) BLS is required. ACLS and CNOR credentials are highly preferred.
  • Education: Graduate from an accredited school of nursing (ASN required, BSN preferred).
  • Floating: Flexibility to float to comparable perioperative departments within your scope of competency to support the hospital's daily needs.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Perform independent perioperative nursing functions, including accurate pre-surgical patient verification, surgical site marking validation, and intraoperative circulating.
  • Monitor, plan, and evaluate nursing care for patients under regional or general anesthesia, advocating fiercely for patient safety while they are unconscious.
  • Manage the surgical room environment: maintain a sterile field, coordinate supply/instrument handoffs, track counts with the scrub tech, and document all procedural data accurately in the EMR.
  • Collaborate effectively with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and surgical technicians to ensure prompt, efficient, and safe operative outcomes.
