Position Summary

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Ultrasound Technician (Sonographer) to perform high-quality diagnostic ultrasound examinations and assist healthcare providers in the diagnosis and treatment of patients. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical expertise, excellent patient care skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced clinical environment while maintaining the highest standards of safety and professionalism.
 

Key Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic ultrasound procedures in accordance with physician orders and established protocols.
• Obtain high-quality images of various anatomical structures, including abdominal, vascular, obstetric, gynecologic, and small-parts examinations as required.
• Review patient medical histories and verify examination requests.
• Prepare patients for ultrasound procedures by explaining the process and addressing concerns.
• Operate and maintain ultrasound equipment, ensuring optimal image quality and equipment functionality.
• Recognize and document abnormal findings for physician interpretation.
• Maintain accurate patient records and examination documentation in electronic medical record (EMR) systems.
• Adhere to infection control, patient safety, HIPAA, and quality assurance standards.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to provide exceptional patient care.
• Participate in departmental quality improvement initiatives and continuing education activities.

Required Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography program.
• Current certification through the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) or equivalent credentialing body.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
• Minimum of 1–2 years of recent ultrasound experience preferred.
• Proficiency in performing a variety of ultrasound examinations.
• Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and ultrasound imaging principles.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team.

Preferred Certifications

• ARDMS Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS)
• Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT)
• Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) (if applicable)
• Advanced specialty certifications in Abdomen (AB), OB/GYN, or Vascular Sonography
