Opportunity Overview

Saint Francis Hospital is seeking an experienced Cardiovascular Surgery Physician Assistant to support a busy Cardiothoracic Surgery program. This is a long-term locum opportunity with a combination of scheduled clinical hours and call coverage.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in cardiovascular and thoracic surgery, including first assisting in the OR, endoscopic vein harvesting, critical care management, and post-operative patient care.

Clinical Responsibilities

• First Assist in CABG and Open Heart Procedures

• Valve Repair & Replacement Surgeries

• Endoscopic Vein Harvesting (EVH)

• Endoscopic Radial Artery Harvesting

• Sternotomy Closure

• Saphenous Femoral Artery (SFA) Exposure

• Chest Tube Placement

• Central Venous Line Placement

• Arterial & Venous Sheath Placement

• Impella Management

• Pre- and Post-Operative Cardiac Surgery Care

• CVICU Patient Management

Requirements

✔ Certified Physician Assistant

✔ ACLS Certification

✔ Strong Cardiothoracic Surgery Experience

✔ Independent EVH Experience Required

✔ Experience with Open Heart Surgery Cases

✔ CVICU / Critical Care Experience Preferred

⏳ Credentialing: Approximately 90 Days
