Surgical Technologist (CST) – Travel Assignment

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) to join a fast-paced surgical team. The Surgical Technologist plays a vital role during the intra-operative period by preparing and maintaining surgical instruments, ensuring sterile technique, and assisting surgeons throughout procedures to promote optimal patient outcomes.

Schedule & Call Requirements

• Shift: 6:30 AM – 3:00 PM
• Call Requirement: 7 call days every 6 weeks
  • Includes 3 weekend call days per rotation

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of Surgical Technologist experience
• High School Diploma or GED
• Current BLS Certification
• Current Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential

Key Responsibilities

• Assist surgeons during operative procedures
• Prepare, handle, and maintain surgical instruments and equipment
• Maintain strict aseptic and sterile techniques throughout procedures
• Perform sponge, sharps, and instrument counts according to facility policy
• Anticipate surgical team needs and respond effectively during urgent or emergent situations
• Ensure proper setup and preparation of the operating room
• Support patient safety and quality care initiatives throughout the surgical experience

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong understanding of surgical procedures and specialty instrumentation
• Knowledge of medical terminology, aseptic technique, and the metric system
• Ability to prioritize tasks and adapt to changing surgical environments
• Experience caring for diverse patient populations from neonates through geriatrics
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
